Virginia Vale
Virginia Vale is located between Alameda, Cherry Creek North, Quebec, and the Denver County line. This neighborhood is a relatively new residential area as up until the 1950s bucolic apple orchards and tranquil pastures dominated the area. Now it is a neighborhood featuring brick ranch-style houses on large lots; there are also some town homes as well. While this seems like a neighborhood deep in suburbia, it is only a 15 minute drive away from downtown Denver to the northwest. It also has a bustling park, the Museum of Nature and Science, and a commercial zone with grocery stores, retail shops, and restaurants. However, the neighborhood is perhaps best known for the Four Mile House that has been a Denver landmark since it served as a stage coach stop, inn, and tavern for earlier travelers along the Cherokee Trail. Now the park surrounding the house is a venue for concerts and festivals. The other must-visit spot is a locally owned fruit and vegetable stand at Leetsdale and Holly that purportedly has the best tomatoes and strawberries in Denver.
